WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

TAGteach creates an environment where teachers and students succeed by design. It’s easy, it’s fun and it works. We know because TAGteach tools and techniques are at work around the world in the classroom, the operating room, and the boardroom, with footballs, soccer balls, and golf balls, on the road, in the air, out at sea, even at - the dinner table. Best thought of as a multipronged approach, TAGteach first utilizes specific language and a process called the Focus Funnel to convey information clearly and without pressure. Next, an event marker called a tag, can be used to identify correct actions or motor patterns while they are happening. Mistakes are countered by instruction and demonstration to enable the learner to practice the correct actions. Finally, TAGteach works to reinforce what has been learned so it happens again. As is typical of the TAGteach approach, we’ve simplified and labeled the process. The TAGteach Triangle: Identify, Highlight, Reinforce. The repeated experience of effort followed by success creates a focused, engaged learner who trusts his or her ability to move forward successfully, even when acquiring unfamiliar information.
