Tuition

As of the Spring 2008 semester, the state will no longer be providing students with free tuition for vision courses. Rather, students accepted into the VI Consortium will be receiving a reduced tuition rate. Spring 2008 tuition rates will range between $117 - $167 per credit hour; depending on the consortium school students attend (as each school has its own tuition rate). Please contact the consortium program liaison at the school of your choice to inquire about specific VI course tuition rates.

GMU CONTRACT COURSE ONLINE TUITION PAYMENT SYSTEM

As of the fall 2008 semester, students using credit or debit cards to pay their VI contract course tuition will now process their own transactions within 48 hours after the first class meeting using an online payment system.  Handwritten Credit Card Authorization forms will no longer be processed by the Outreach Program Office.

Online payment can be made with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) or debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo.  If using a debit card, be sure to contact your bank BEFORE you attempt to process your online payment to ensure that there isn’t a preset debit transaction limit lower than your tuition amount.  Most debit cards have a 1-800 customer service number on the back that you can call to request a one time transaction amount increase.  If not, your bank should be able to assist you.

Begin by going to the following webpage:

http://gse.gmu.edu/programs/sped/cohort

Be sure to note the important information on this webpage as it pertains to finding your GMU Student ID Number (G Number), tuition rate and payment deadlines, and your cohort course number and section number.

When you are ready, click on the “Pay with Credit Card” button at the bottom of the page.

Complete the payment screen in its entirety.

For “V-code Availability” (next to the last field at the bottom) you’ll note a drop down menu.  This indicates whether or not you have the credit or debit card with you at the time of your transaction.

The “V-code” (last field at the bottom), is the 3 digit number found in the signature line of your card.

Click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.  You will know immediately if your transaction has been successfully completed or not.  In addition, you and the Outreach Program Office will be sent an e-mail confirmation of your transaction.  Be sure to print out your e-mail confirmation as this will serve as your receipt for tuition reimbursement.

Students must understand that if they do not pay the full and proper tuition amount within 48 hours after the first class meeting, that additional fees will be assessed and a financial hold will be placed on their student account, preventing them from receiving final grades or in enrolling in future courses until all tuition issues are settled.
