About Us

The Kellar Institute for Human DisAbilities (KIHd) is an interdisciplinary campus-based organization focusing on improving the lives and productivity of children and adults with disabilities. KIHd combines the resources of the university with local, state, regional, national, public, and private sector agencies and organizations to develop products, services, and programs for persons with disabilities.

Peggy King-Sears, Anya Evmenova and Todd Johnson receive Samuel A. Kirk Publication Award at CEC

Professors Peggy King-Sears and Anya Evmenova and Doctoral Student Todd Johnson in the GMU College of Education And Human Development, were awarded the Samuel A. Kirk Publication Award by the Division for Learning Disabilities of the Council for Exceptional Children. Their article "Using Technology for Accessible Chemistry Homework for High School Students with and without Learning Disabilities: LEARNING DISABILITIES RESEARCH" published in March 2017 in Learning Disabilities Research and Practice (LDRP) v.32(2) was selected as the best practitioner article published in LDRP during the 2017 volume year.
