About Us

The Kellar Institute for Human DisAbilities (KIHd) is an interdisciplinary campus-based organization focusing on improving the lives and productivity of children and adults with disabilities. KIHd combines the resources of the university with local, state, regional, national, public, and private sector agencies and organizations to develop products, services, and programs for persons with disabilities.

Benefits

    Select TURTLES Scholars will receive:
  • a start-up package (~$3,000)
  • stipends each semester to support individual education needs ($7,000-$10,000 per year)
  • full tuition and fees,
  • financial support for conference travel for professional development and networking, and
  • stipends for research supplies and dissertation research support (~$4,000)

Service Obligation

Accepted TURTLES Scholars are required to work a minimum of two years for every year of support in a special education position in the United States, or repay funding support received.
