Project ASCEND is designed around (a) 24 credit hours of Special Education — 6 new courses; 1 revised internship, (b) 12 credits in a Minor secondary concentration area , (c) 18 credit hours of General Culture, Foundations, and Research Methods, (d) portfolio requirements, and (e) 12 credit hours of Dissertation. The project is aligned with the CEHD program requirements, but emphasizes the new special education courses designed to provide learning experiences in teaching, research, and service, in a mentoring environment with highly productive faculty.
