Presentation proposals
Overview of proposals to the 2012 State of the Art Conference
This year, we received 55 proposals to present at the 2012 State of the Art Conference. These proposals were well-conceptualized and -communicated. The proposals fell under at least one this year's eight strands. Our Advisory Board consists of experts in each category invited to review their subject area. These Advisory Board members were given the review criteria found on the proposal submission site, and the proposals that fell under their strand (with all identifying information hidden). They awarded each proposal a numerical score, and the top-scoring proposals (once the reviewers' scores were averaged) were invited to present.
We were hoping to keep our number of presentations down, in order to not overwhelm conference attendees. However, our best intentions fell by the wayside when we saw the sheer number of stellar proposals. We invited 32 proposals to present at the 2012 conference; approximately 58% of all submitted proposals. The agenda, listing the accepted and committed presentations, is posted.
